On-device dictation for macOS

Speak. It types.

Press space, talk, and your words land wherever you were typing, transcribed entirely on your Mac, on the Neural Engine. Your voice never touches a server.

The EMBER eye, the whole interface

MindDrip recording a spoken prompt with a live transcript, Pause control, and five-second timer.
Recording with live words, real UI, unretouched

The film

Thirty-nine seconds, from speech to typed.

Watch a real MindDrip take start, pause, resume, finish locally, and land inside a Codex session.

Real installed app and local transcription, edited for pace. The on-screen timer reflects the original take. The finished prompt is placed in Codex but never submitted.

The instrument

One eye. Seven honest states.

A 56-point instrument that floats where you dock it. No window. No dashboard. Every state below uses the real app render.

MindDrip recording a spoken prompt with a live transcript, Pause control, and five-second timer.

See your words as you speak.

The ember responds to your voice while live words build above it. Pause when you need a moment.

The dictated prompt placed in a real Codex input field.
Pasted in context. This is where the completed prompt landed in a real Codex session.

Private by architecture

Nothing you say leaves this Mac.

Not a policy, a wiring diagram. The microphone feeds a model that lives on your Neural Engine, and the path ends at your cursor.

  1. Speak

⌥Space, and the microphone feeds the engine directly. No buffer ever written to disk.

  2. Transcribe on-device

Parakeet runs on the Apple Neural Engine, in memory. Six languages, detected as you speak.

  3. Paste where you type

Text lands at your cursor in the active app. Your previous clipboard is saved and restored.

  4. Nothing leaves

Audio is discarded after transcription. Transcripts and stats live only on your Mac.

After the one-time model setup, MindDrip only uses the network for update checks and license checks.
No account. No telemetry. No server that hears you.

Made for real work

Everything a dictation tool should do. Nothing it shouldn't.

The engine is NVIDIA's Parakeet, state of the art among open source speech models and the most powerful of its class, the same caliber of engine premium dictation apps rent for a monthly fee. MindDrip runs it on your silicon and you pay once.

Types anywhere. Words land at the cursor in any app: mail, docs, chat, editors, terminals.

Six languages. English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Italian, detected while you speak.

Pause mid-thought. Freeze a take while you think. Esc cancels without transcribing.

History, kept local. Every transcript searchable on your Mac. Audio is never kept.

Your vocabulary. Teach it names, jargon, and spoken→written replacements, applied on-device.

Transcribe files. Drop in an existing recording. Same engine, same privacy.

Pricing

One payment. No subscription. No transcription server.

Refund policy

Try free first. Sales are final.

The 10-day trial is the full app, free, so you can be certain before you pay. MindDrip is digital content delivered instantly: at checkout you consent to immediate delivery, which ends the statutory 14-day withdrawal window the moment your license arrives. All sales are therefore final and change-of-mind refunds aren't offered. Any refund right consumer law does guarantee you, for example for a product that doesn't work, stays untouched. One heads-up so nothing surprises you: the charge on your card statement reads LEMSQZY*, our payment processor Lemon Squeezy, not "MindDrip".

FAQ

Fair questions.

Is my audio uploaded anywhere?

No. Transcription runs on your Mac's Neural Engine using on-device speech models. Audio is processed locally and discarded. It is never sent, and never stored. MindDrip downloads the models it needs during first-launch setup. After that, it only uses the network for update checks and license checks.

What does it run on?

Apple Silicon Macs (M1 or newer) running macOS 14 or later. MindDrip downloads the on-device speech models it needs during first-launch setup. After that, transcription works offline.

Which languages does it understand?

English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese and Italian. The engine detects the language automatically as you speak.

How does the trial work?

The first 10 days are the full app, free, no credit card. After that, a single $14.99 purchase unlocks the full app on up to two Macs with no subscription. MindDrip periodically revalidates the license and keeps working through temporary outages. Use the trial to be sure, purchases are final.

When can I download it?

MindDrip is in final pre-release testing (notarization and distribution work). The download will be available right here. Drop us a line and we'll tell you the moment it's live.

Where's my license key? I lost it.

Your key arrives in the purchase receipt email and on the post-purchase page. If you can't find it, open app.lemonsqueezy.com/my-orders, enter your purchase email, and Lemon Squeezy re-sends every order and key. Still stuck? support@minddrip.app.

What will the charge look like on my card?

The statement descriptor is LEMSQZY*. That's Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, who handles the payment and global taxes. It's the $14.99 MindDrip purchase, not an unknown charge.

How do refunds work?

All sales are final. The 10-day trial exists so you can test everything before paying, and at checkout you consent to immediate delivery, which waives the statutory withdrawal window for digital content. Refund rights consumer law guarantees, such as for a faulty product, are unaffected. See the refund policy.

How do updates arrive?

Inside the app, signed and verified (Sparkle). MindDrip checks a static file for new versions and asks before installing. All 1.x updates are free.

Last updated: July 16, 2026

MindDrip is built so that your voice and your words stay on your Mac. This page describes everything the app processes, in plain language.

Your audio and transcripts

Speech is transcribed entirely on your device, using an on-device speech model running on the Apple Neural Engine. Audio is processed in memory and discarded when the transcription finishes. It is never stored and never transmitted. Transcripts are saved only in a local history on your Mac (you choose the retention window, and you can delete any entry or disable retention). They are never uploaded anywhere.

No accounts, no analytics

MindDrip has no user accounts, no analytics, and no telemetry. We do not collect usage data. Usage statistics shown inside the app (words dictated, time saved) are computed and stored locally and never leave your Mac.

The network calls

Speech model setup. On first launch, MindDrip downloads the on-device speech models it needs. These requests contain no audio, transcript, or personal content. Once the models are cached, transcription works offline.

Update checks. The app periodically checks a static file on our server to see whether a new version exists. This request carries no personal data beyond what any web request includes.

License activation and checks. When you buy MindDrip you receive a license key. To activate or re-validate it, the app sends the key and an anonymous device instance identifier to our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy (lemonsqueezy.com), over an encrypted connection. No audio, transcripts, or personal content is ever included.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. Your payment details go to them, not to us. Their handling of that data is described in their own privacy policy. We receive the information needed to fulfill your license (such as your email address and license key).

Support

If you email support@minddrip.app, we keep the correspondence to help you. Nothing more.
